When he drops below half health he enters Phase 2 where every third move is a big attack, and the other moves are either debuffs to the player, buffs to himself, or smaller attacks. Because his strength goes up quite quickly, the longer the fight goes on the more dangerous it becomes. In general will just keep whacking you while giving you those darn debuffs. He can also metallicize himself to gain block at the end of every turn, and can also increase his own strength. Every four turns he will taunt you and apply debuffs to your attack and defence. When you beat Slime Boss for the first time, you will receive: Attacks that hit all enemies are useful for this boss, as you might be fighting four small slimes by the end of the combat. The slimes add Slimed status cards to your deck, clogging it up. But getting it to as low health as possible is better, because then it makes all the subsequent slimes easier to fight. Therefore, getting it down to half health by the end of your turn 3 is a good idea. Reduce those two slimes to half health and they will again split into two more slimes, again with the same health as the split slime.įor the first two turns the boss will do nothing, but will then hit you for quite a lot of damage. When it splits, it will interrupt whatever action it is doing. Get his health down to 50, and the two slimes will have 50 health each. For example, if you reduce the boss to 70 health then he will split into two slimes with 70 health. When it gets to half health it will divide into two slimes that have the same health as the divided slime. Outward Bound can be dangerous-on the third day of our trip another classmate and I wrecked our raft and we were very lucky we didn't drown in the roughest rapids on the river. I am still proud of completing the trip and wrote a very positive post about it after completing the trip on my own FB page, but I've had time to process it after the trip ended and I decided it is finally time to share my thoughts. This is a very subjective experience that depends on many variable factors of the trip. I don't want to end on a bad note I want to sing praises of the people I was with and the organization that really tries to do good. "Toughness," maybe, but not mental health. But on a broader level, in practice, I don’t think mental health is a focus for Outward Bound. My main feedback would be to bring a mental health clinician onboard and to bring more people of color on trips. That can be beautifully invigorating but also difficult in ways that aren’t necessarily healthy (mentally or physically). Outward Bound is an experience of the extremes. Again, this was my particular group, but the instructors were not helpful, which can be applied more generally to the organization. I’m not saying I didn’t grow I’m saying that the environment was not particularly conducive to growth as they advertise. Outward Bound, in my experience, was the opposite: it was hostile, and which breeds resentment and closing in, not growth. Outward Bound’s goals seem pretty similar to group therapy’s, but the difference is that group therapy is where safety, trust, and skilled guidance form the basis of an environment where members can be vulnerable with each other and grow together. I was sleep-deprived throughout (they said the trip was for hard work not resting) I barely got any time by myself even though a big reason I did the trip was to have space to reflect (thankfully, we got Solo, which was really great and much needed) I couldn’t sleep at night from severe itching due to hiking in over 100 degree temperatures for days and not being able to bathe in water at all (because of lack of time, because apparently mileage, curriculum, *anything else* are more important than basic forms of self-care) cliques formed and talking behind people’s backs & bullying happened (yes, in a group of 12 students, all college age and above). In general, the experience was really brutal. It ultimately became another thing I needed to deal with. ** fragility at its finest, and that too completely unrecognized by the staff. The ** male dominance was definitely present, and when I spoke up about a specific person, an instructor told me that this person was offended that I would bring up potential discrimination & superiority because that person tries their best to be equitable. It is not possible to communicate with anyone outside the group for the entire duration of the trip, so it is especially important that receiving appropriate social support is not a gamble based on the random group you go with but is systematically in place.Īlso, everyone on my trip was ** except for me (which meant I did not see a single POC for 24 days). When emotional development is such an important part of their mission AND they cater to at-risk youth, it does not make sense that a skilled professional in mental health is not present. Without them, it becomes a free-for-all of emotional guidance based on the personal experience of the instructors and students/members. Outward Bound needs at least one mental health clinician on their trips. Void Bastards can be difficult though, and the random nature of the star map and what genetic mutations your new inmate might carry, like say being a heavy breather – so less oxygen/time aboard each vessel to explore - can make the initial few hours quite challenging. Which can then be used to create new weapons, equipment, or a printer you need to create a Citizen Card. Cruise ships full of loot tucked away in hotel suites, military vessels with torpedos you’ll need in order to fend off pirate attacks, and cargo ships with holds containing large containers full of hard to source materials. The citizens of the Sargasso Nebula are memorable in both appearance and behaviour, and this extends to the ships you board, which represent various corporations and purposes. "Survival is key, with success and progression tied to finding the right parts and material to craft the tools you need to escape the game’s futuristic satirical depiction of bureaucracy gone wrong." And we say almost because boarding a ship with a “shedload” of Spooks can go from quiet to overwhelming in a matter of seconds. From the adolescent Juvies that yell out obscenities to the hulking Screws that represent the heaviest and deadliest of guards. Enemies are built on real-world archetypes crossed with glowing blue space mutants and are almost always a joy to discover. As one of many convicts searching for freedom, Void Bastards wonderfully blends first-person exploration, shooting, and collection of materials and parts with the element of survival. Yes, a two-sample t-test is used to analyze the results from A/B tests. You can use the test when your data values are independent, are randomly sampled from two normal populations and the two independent groups have equal variances. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) is one such method. What if the variances for my two groups are not equal? Other multiple comparison methods include the Tukey-Kramer test of all pairwise differences, analysis of means (ANOM) to compare group means to the overall mean or Dunnett’s test to compare each group mean to a control mean. What if my data isn’t nearly normally distributed? You use a different estimate of the standard deviation. If your sample sizes are very small, you might not be able to test for normality. You might need to rely on your understanding of the data. When you cannot safely assume normality, you can perform a nonparametric test that doesn’t assume normality.įor the two-sample t-test, we need two variables. The second variable is the measurement of interest. We have students who speak English as their first language and students who do not.We also have an idea, or hypothesis, that the means of the underlying populations for the two groups are different. Our two groups are the native English speakers and the non-native speakers. Our idea is that the mean test scores for the underlying populations of native and non-native English speakers are not the same. We measure the grams of protein in two different brands of energy bars.We want to know if the mean score for the population of native English speakers is different from the people who learned English as a second language. Our measurement is the grams of protein for each energy bar. Our idea is that the mean grams of protein for the underlying populations for the two brands may be different. We want to know if we have evidence that the mean grams of protein for the two brands of energy bars is different or not. The variances for the two independent groups are equal.įor very small groups of data, it can be hard to test these requirements.Data in each group are normally distributed.Data in each group must be obtained via a random sample from the population.Measurements for one observation do not affect measurements for any other observation. Below, we'll discuss how to check the requirements using software and what to do when a requirement isn’t met. Also, the tent seemed ready to blow away at any minute and the tube at the bedroom end, was visibly, during the night, struggling to stay in position as it were in the gusting winds. Our first trip to Cheddar with it was during gusting winds and heavy bursts of rainfall, and the tent leaked everywhere. It leaked a lot around the bases of the inflated poles, and water came in through the roof as well. Overall I rate this tent a 6, it didn't do anything wrong but I would like to see the new season models where any glitches will be ironed out.īy: Sgrisdal Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2011 Rating:Įxtremely disappointed with this tent. One of the worst times as a camper is packing up, the infinity deflated no problem and much quicker than a normal tent, easy really and a lot less stressful. My concerns started when the weather changed initially I felt that the tent was ready to come in on itself when the wind got up but it didn't, granted it took a little getting used to but it stayed up. The space and build didn't cause me any concern either. The inflation and pegging was straight forward much like I had seen in the video. I have never owned a Vango tent before but was obviously aware of the reputation, overall I was not disappointed with the quality. Rather than making the investment I borrowed one. I was sceptical about purchasing an inflatable tent not least because I just couldn't see it being anywhere near as good as my Outwell Sunvalley 8. Hopefully we will be able to get our money back.īy: Aiden Roberts Reason: I've used one Made in: 2011 Rating: As you can see in the pictures we're not talking just a little bit, they went straight down to the ground.Īs I said, we really did want to like this tent but we certainly would not recommend one unless you only ever camp in good, dry weather. Things actually got worse as we tried to pack up with all 3 of the beams eventually collapsing in on us. It was quite windy but everyone else's tents stayed put. We tried tightening the ropes and changing the position of them but nothing helped. We felt that this may not have been such an issue if there were more ropes on the front of the tent. The front two poles lost pressure a couple of times and began to bend so we had to re-inflate them.Īll of these issues were inconvenient but we had to cut our trip short as the tent collapsed in on us when the wind changed direction and was blowing towards the front of the tent. The 2011 model had 2 guy ropes at the front which they have removed from the 2012 model. There are no guy ropes on the front of the tent (apart from on the front beam) so the front of the tent flaps about in the wind and caves in when wet. The bit where you attach the front curtains to isn't substantial enough and the holes have stretched badly after the first use. The connector on the pump cracked the first time we used it. The groundsheet was not sealed properly along the seams so water collected underneath the carpet. Water continuously pooled around the bottom of the beams. Lack of ventilation meant that we had a huge build up of condensation. It looks great and has some nice features but we had too many problems. We really wanted to like this tent but Vango have just not got it right. Issues are minor though in comparison to the ease of pitching and packing up (so much quicker than any other tent of a comparable size) and the stability.Ģ from 2 people found this review helpful, was it helpful to you?īy: ACFozz Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2012 Rating: One other niggle is that the front hooks for the inner are positioned right behind the beams and fiddly to clip into - if they were 2 inches forward it would be a lot easier. Far more stable than any pole tent I've used of a comparable size. Quite the contrary - in high winds they hardly move at all. We certainly haven't experienced any issues with the beams collapsing or bending. Also some ability to open for ventilation without the water coming in - either a flap over the top and a top opening zip, or the ability to attach poles to make it into a roofed porch opening would be an improvement. I'd also agree with the point that the front of the tent is a poor design - you have to be well over 6 feet to open the outer without also opening the mesh and additional guy ropes would be useful. I think in many cases the pooling of water that people notice is at least partly due to a build up of condensation that then drips down to the lowest point ie the beams. I'd agree that condensation is an issue and that ventilation needs to be improved. Just back from Scotland and a week of variable weather. The replacement tent did not have the build quality issues of my first one and we've used it for a year now and are happy with it. 1 from 1 people found this review helpful, was it helpful to you?īy: Bluenosesteve Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2011 Rating: The GameCube version was also released North America and Europe.
